ARUN WELLNESS

Welcome to Arun Wellness massage services! I'm Nitis Phralapol, also known as Nong. I have over 10 years of professional experience as a spa therapist in leading hotels and spas in Thailand, South Korea and Finland.

In addition to specializing in traditional Thai massage, I'm proficient in many other massage styles and techniques. I take pride in providing a high-quality service. Every person is unique and I always tailor the treatment according to your specific needs.

Book a treatment at your home or visit the Hotel St. George spa in Helsinki (Yrjönkatu 13), where I work regularly.

Why massage is good for the body and mind

Massage has many positive effects on the body and mind. It relaxes and creates balance on both the physical and mental level. Massage enhances blood circulation, boosts your metabolism and strengthens the immune system. By increasing the amount of oxygen and nutrients available to the muscles, massage reduces soreness and fatigue, enabling faster recovery from strain and exercise. Massage also helps to flush body tissues of harmful toxins and deposits such as lactic acid, uric acid and metabolic wastes. Thai massage, in particular, strengthens the ligaments and tendons, keeping them supple and pliable. Massage also stimulates the skin and balances the nervous system. Regular massage therapy can also improve your sleeping pattern as well as reduce stress and fatigue.

Traditional Thai Massage

Traditional Thai massage is part of a healing system that goes back thousands of years. It combines acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. Thai massage is especially good for aching or tired muscles and joints, rejuvenating and energising your body and mind.

TREATMENTS

Picture
TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE
Traditional Thai massage makes you feel revitalized and energized. The treatment consists of smooth movements and many different positions of careful body stretching. I also use my thumbs and palms to apply deep pressure on acupressure points around the body. Elbows and knees (but never the feet) are also used on specific areas. Thai massage is especially good for tired or aching muscles and joints.

AROMATHERAPY WITH MASSAGE
Aromatherapy, combined with a smooth and gentle massage, brings you a deep sense of physical and mental relaxation. Applying fragrant aromatic oil, I use a variety of massage techniques including effleurage, long strokes, rubbing and kneading over the whole body.
Picture
HEAD, SHOULDERS & FOOT MASSAGE
This treatment provides you with total relaxation and release from tension, from head to toe. I begin with a foot massage, followed by the shoulders, neck and head. The head massage stimulates scalp circulation, restoring energy flow to the temples, which improves alertness and concentration.

Picture
HEAD, SHOULDERS & BACK MASSAGE
This treatment is ideal for eliminating the tension, stress or pain caused by long hours of sitting at a desk. I start by working on your lower back with Thai massage techniques, using my thumbs, palms and elbows on the acupressure points. This is followed by the shoulder massage and finally the head. The head massage stimulates scalp circulation, restoring energy flow to the temples, which improves alertness and concentration.

FOOT MASSAGE
According to reflexology, the body is divided into zones with energy lines linking all parts of the body. When pressure is applied to a specific point on the foot, a reflex action of self-healing is stimulated in another part of the body. In this treatment, I focus on those points on the underside of your feet and lower legs by stroking, tapping and kneading movements with my palms, thumbs and knuckles. A foot massage is a deeply relaxing and satisfying experience that also helps to support the blood flow back to the upper part of your body and the heart.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
The deep tissue treatment focuses on a particular part of the body (e.g. back, shoulders or legs). In this treatment, I combine the Thai massage techniques of using my thumbs, palms and elbows on the acupressure points with the kneading, tapping and rubbing used in Swedish massage. The end result is powerful feeling of relaxation and healing, which remains with you long after the massage.
